Peter Worthington, founding editor of the Ottawa Sun, was a foreign correspondent in Suez, Algeria, Congo, Iraq, Rhodesia, Biafra, Vietnam, Laos, China, Angola, Eritrea and Albania, and the Moscow Bureau Chief for the Toronto Telegram before he co-founded and became editor-in-chief of the Toronto Sun.

Among his honours are the Colin M. Brown Medal of Freedom from the National Citizens’ Coalition, four national newspaper awards, two national magazine awards, and a place in the Canadian News Hall of Fame. The Carleton Alumni Association awarded him the A.D. Dunton Alumni Award of Distinction in 1981.
