Dr. Paré received his Ph. D. in Natural Product Chemistry from Carleton in 1984. Since then, he has gone on to author over 130 scientific publications. He holds 13 patents, and has presented his scientific work around the world in roughly 320 communications. As the inventor of a number of technologies collectively known as Microwave-Assisted Processes (MAPTM), Dr. Paré is recognised as a “model” across Canada’s Public Service for successfully integrating research, development and commercialisation activities with both public good contents and tangible commercial success.

He has been honoured with numerous awards including a Treasury Board of Canada Award of Excellence, the 5NR Science Award in sustainable development, a Federal Partners in Technology Transfer Innovator Award, the 2002 Head of Public Service Award, the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada Gold Medal Award, the Maxxam Lecture Award of the Canadian Society for Chemistry.
