
Since founding the Canadian-based international mining company Aur Resources in 1981, James Gill has served as its president and CEO. In 1997, he was appointed a member of the Mining Standards Task Force formed by The Toronto Stock Exchange and the Ontario Securities Commission. He is also the chairman and a director of Thundermin Resources Inc. and a director of the Mining Association of Canada.
Gill graduated from McGill University with honours in geology and a Master of Science degree in economic geology before earning a Ph. D. degree in economic geology from Carleton.
