
Brian Doyle began writing to encourage his children to read. Now, with twelve published novels and multiple national and international awards, the popular children’s writer has captured the imaginations and hearts of a generation of readers.
The former Carleton Raven football player worked for a few years as a journalist, then began his lifelong profession of teaching. He continued to write stories and musicals for school concerts before being published by Groundwood Books.
His books include Uncle Ronald (Mr. Christie Book Award), Covered Bridge (Mr. Christie Book of the Year Award), Easy Avenue (CLA Book of the Year Award), Up to Low (CLA Book of the Year Award), and Boy O’Boy.
