Ottawa-based photographer Paul Couvrette is the owner of Couvrette Studio, a photography studio that has garnered over 100 awards in its 30-year history. Couvrette was awarded Ontario Photographer of the Year for three consecutive years and was named Canadian Photographer of the Year in 1994.

Portraiture is at the forefront of the studio’s work, and Couvrette has photographed Ottawa’s high-tech stars and political players. He’s the only Canadian photographer who has carried out official portraits of every Prime Minister since Trudeau. His commercial work has appeared in Nortel`s annual report, Vogue and Architectural Digest.

Couvrette’s work has been featured in videos, album covers, books and CD-ROMS. His prints have toured China and have been on display at the Kodak Pavilion at Epcot Centre. His editorial assignments have seen Couvrette’s photos grace the covers of Macleans, Enroute, Time, Newsweek, Ottawa Life Magazine and Forbes. His early work was seen in the Charlatan, where Couvrette was photo editor during his student days.
