
Winner of the 2006 Ottawa YMCA-YWCA Women of Distinction Award in the Learning for Life category, Dawn Brown focuses on writing and speaking about life transitions. She devotes her energies to Perception Shift, a company dedicated to creating a healthy approach to living. She is the author of That Perception Thing, Choosing Opportunity, and Been There, Done That…Now What? and co-author of Expert Women Who Speak… Speak Out.
An alumna of the Management Development Program for Women, Brown holds a BA in sociology from Carleton and a MEd (counselling) from McGill. She was formerly the director of Student Life Services and head of Career Services at Carleton.
An inspirational speaker and writer, she has shared her message of hope with audiences nationally and internationally. Her insightful words are the result of years of experience as a teacher, psychotherapist and trainer specializing in career and life transitions. She is a former columnist with Energy Medicine Online magazine. Her On the Couch column provided many insights to those seeking to change their lives, whether in small ways or significant life shifts.
