Larry Boisvert served as president of the Canadian Space Agency from May 2007 to September 2008, after a long career with Telesat. Boisvert joined Telesat in 1972 and retired in 2006. He was appointed vice-president of network services in 1988. In 1993, he was appointed president and CEO of Telesat Canada, and in 1997, he simultaneously became president and CEO of Telesat Mobile Inc.

In February 2007, Boisvert became the second Canadian to be inducted into the Society of Satellite Professionals International in recognition of his many accomplishments over 34 years in the satellite industry.

Boisvert obtained a Radar Technician Certification Diploma from the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1962. He graduated from the Carleton in 1981.
