Kim Barry Brunhuber , BJ / 95 , MJ / 98

Recipient of the Phyllis Wilson Award in Journalism from Carleton University, Kim Brunhuber started his journalism career at CBC radio then worked for CTV in Ottawa and Halifax, where he was one of the first reporters on the scene during the Swissair tragedy. His news stories have been broadcast around the globe, and his articles have appeared in newspapers and magazines in Canada and South Africa. He also hosted a nationally distributed book review segment.

Based in Ottawa, Brunhuber works part-time as a reporter and substitute anchor while writing his second novel and filming several documentaries. He also finds time to act in the occasional television show.

His first novel, Kameleon Man, was a finalist for the national 2004 ReLit Award and the 2004 Ottawa Book Award, and was selected for inclusion in McClelland+Stewart’s Revival: An Anthology of the Best Black Canadian Writing.
